This Time, Again

You pierced my many lifetimes
with the spear of truth
and I was forced to accept
the embrace of Earth’s
brightest green grass
forced to lay my life down there
in stillness.

I withdrew
your sapphire blade
and watched in astonishment
as a cerulean sky
poured out of me,
like every reason
I ever had for living
until I reached the bottom
of emptiness,
and began to fly.

I remember now that…
You have called me into being
more times than I can recall
and perhaps that is why I forget
every single time that I arrive
that remembering what I came here for
is exactly what I came here for.

Again,
You have placed me
so perfectly
so deftly
so gently
into a maelstrom,
that appears to have no end.

Just like before,
You have shown me
how we are all smitten
with illusion
awash with rigtheousness
in denial of rigorously proven
heavenly affections.

With a heart full of compassion,
You brought me to the lake
of mirrors
and we watched
sorrow filled,
embattled spirits,
lobbing stones against the deep truth
of calm water.

I see the Great Thread now,
sent through the eye of the ineffable
stitching together every me there ever was
with everyone else
there ever has been
and how for a time
once again,
I get another chance,
the way we all do,
this time
again,
to love.
