New Poem: Consecrate

Lonely soul,
give up trying
to forget your fire.

We do not have a choice
when it comes to our divinity…
the inextinguishable flame,
that we exhaustingly flee.

We do not ask the sun
why it must endure burning.
We do not ask the river
why it is forced to flow downhill.
We do not ask the snow
why every flake must be unique.
do not ask yourself,
why you were forced into divinity.

Trust that,
whatever you have done,
whomever you may be,
that you can consecrate
the very place you sit upon
with your presence.

And when you remember what you really are,
you will.

PS. Are you familiar with the poet Dorothy Walters? I think you would enjoy her work.

Ah yes…I know Dorothy. I have emailed a few times with her. She has wonderful poetry indeed. I also used to post on Chaikhana. Thanks for the recommendation.
