Poem: Whipped Cream Clouds

With a smile

I looked up to see

whipped cream clouds,

breezily sweeping the crisp blue sky

with tynes of wisp.

Next to me

daughter and son

breezily moving through my heart

asking me if there is enough room

and my heart becomes the sky.

He swaggers and never lets a stranger’s eye

remain unmet.

She looks inward in each moment

no one escapes her senses.

In a warm patch of sun

held together

by a love bigger than anything

the three of us enjoy the gift

of another afternoon together.
