Poem: Everything and Nothing

Let me get this straight..
you came from nothingness
formless connection
arrived in the midst of everythingness
a world of edges
and concluded
you were meant to return to the womb?

Traveller…why do you think you came here
in the first place?

You are afraid to lose yourself
in everything
wish to retreat into the sacred spiral
of nothing…

Do not be afraid to be born
do not cower from what you came here to do
remember why you chose this
in the first place.
And if you can’t…
everything is here to guide you
to bring the gifts of the freedom
of nothingness
to the feast of everything.

Sit at the table friend.
Gaze in awe of what we
endure through being here
and recognize that no strangers
are present.
Just a bunch of nobodies
that chose to be somebodies
for the sake of love.

But don’t try to pretend that you are a nobody
while in that body…
If I can see you, you are somebody
with a hunger for something
and a heart to heal.

Everything will make you look
outside for love
finding nothing there
shows you everything inside.

is made of nothing
but it takes that much nothing
to make your healing something.

We suffer from holding
everything that happens
Nothingness can set our mind’s free
of it
But freedom from everything
only happens
when we can love
every single thing
about being a human being.

Everything is in my right hand
nothing is held in my left
bringing them together
in prayer
forms the shape
of the human heart.
