Poem: Some Truths

Some Truths

I cannot talk

There are some truths
that to speak them
would shatter…
to make them known
would unmake too much
all at once.

Some truths
don’t rhyme for poems
or deliver inspiration.

Truths run crosswise
and constellations
make more sense…
the blackness soothes.

Layers of
snow, caldera throw,
quartz and seashell
lay on one another’s backs
wondering when we will realize
they don’t belong together,
not like that.

Emptiness
leads to founts
whose wisdom
cannot find home
and for which words
can find no ears
to listen.

Some truths are not ready
to be heard,
or spoken,
or written,
not here,
not yet.

  1. Be. Silence. It’s calling you.
