Poetry: Rapunzel

How can there be the single blade
in this field of tall grasses,
that makes us want to lay down
for a lifetime,
and wait for the breeze
and sunsets

Only we would know
the thirst ending
the gift of fading parched days
scorched lonely earth
love can be like rain,
like rivers and oceans…
to people like us,
with lives like these.

Can you give up the lie
that it’s better alone?
Can you live alive to die
while living
instead of dying before your time
in solitude?

All the towers
in this kingdom
look the same…
help me find you.

Let down your hair.
