Poetry: Swim

I’ve seen boys without mothers who could not become men
until they became themselves…fathers.

There are motherless girls who cannot become women
until they see their mothers as women without mothers…
stumbling through the role of having children.

There are children here,
who don’t have safety,
family meals
and trips to the mountains
in the family car.

There are children here,
who don’t swim
in the warm
and shallow end
with ladders every five feet…
some are in a dark deep end
where the lights are turned off
and there is nothing to do
but swim
and swim
and swim.

What you do
as a mother
or a father
is hope
that they learn how to float
because after a while you learn
that they will never be able
to get out of the pool.

What you do…
if you are able to
is jump in with them
and swim
swim
swim.
Just so that they don’t
have to do it alone.

Hey Charlie…Sandy here…remember me? I love your posts! Thank you for you 🙂 I was wondering if I can ask you some questions about kundalini? I don’t find any link to contact you. Is there a preferred method?
