And Then Shall You Pray

My past is a pillow
of rock
a bed
in a lost moraine.
Nature brings goods to ends
never seen again.

And what do we make
of the undoers?
To those who unwind
the threads
that hold together
good lives of others…
how do we make them,
Can we?
Should we?

The pain
you feel
equals the distance
they must travel
to feel anything
at all.
The way it hurts
is how they feel
without being able
to feel.
They see
through the aquarium
your life
that they
they can’t touch.

For those
shipwrecked we
a new day
For windstrewn us
a life changed.
If we hate them
we lose it all…
and so we shall
lose for years…
surely…why not?

Love is
the only everlasting
thing we have.
Hate until you can’t.
When love returns
to you,
you will have
what the undoers
still can’t find.

And then
shall you pray.
