It’s going to feel longer
than just one life.

into a cascading

One cannot look away.
So that
when you look at them
you’ll see
what they see.

The present is naked
unadorned
and sheds all
of humanities names.

And that’s when you’ll know.

It’s an empty shifting
shiftless
place
an unforgivingly wide
and open space.

You’ll disappear
by living there,
you’ll find yourself
gone.
Dark thing in a bright dawn
Erased constantly
and newly redrawn.

There won’t be a subtext…
pretext or context.
The wind for a guidebook.
A heart for a compass.
Feet for carrying.

You’ll wonder if love is enough,
until you try it…

And that’s when you’ll know.
